Having been an athlete in my younger years, and reached a high standard as a 400MH hurdler, I am acquainted with excellent coaching.
I have received coaching from Shauni. I have found her coaching style supportive, firm and it is clear to me she works in a manner to get the best out of you. She has an eye for detail which goes a long way in improving your technique for better performance. As someone who received strength training as an athlete I have no hesitation in recommending Shauni as a coach you will greatly value and benefit from in working with her closely.

Shauni has been coaching me for 5 months. As a novice swimmer with chronic health conditions, wanting to build my stamina in the water seemed like a pipe dream. Shauni has helped me recognise the signals from my body and work within my limits to meet my goals.
Thanks to Shauni, I feel that I can actually set myself challenges and achieve them - this year I am swimming 22 miles over 12 weeks between March - June, and I am hoping to swim Bala in the summer!
I cannot wait to continue working with Shauni to see what we can achieve!

Shauni takes the time to listen to individual needs and adapts the exercises and reps, session by session, in order to cater for the changing needs of my medical condition. This flexibility in her coaching style enables me to continue with my strength & conditioning training regime in order to be stronger when swimming. Highly recommended

I’ve been coached by Shauni for five months now, and in that time, my technique, stamina, and confidence have improved significantly. After taking a few years off from swimming due to COVID and injuries, I had lost all my stamina and technique. Shauni has been incredibly clear in explaining each exercise, making it easy to understand and follow.

1 year ago, I set out on a mission to improve my health through exercise and weight loss. I needed to do this due to long term physical health issues. I included an exercise regime through two different personal trainers and was successful in improving my cardio as well as losing some weight. I swam lake Bala (3.1 miles) in June but I wasn’t confident enough to swim front crawl and to be honest I didn’t have the technique.
On starting back with SwimYourSwim, learning front crawl, I noticed that my swim endurance had improved with the exercises and cardio I had introduced but I had now signed up for a challenge of a lifetime. To swim in the Artic waters.
I asked around and was signposted to Shauni for strength and conditioning training. I explained that I needed to improve my swimming endurance and technique so I could swim as fast as I could in extremely cold waters.
Shauni set me exercises in line with my goals that were specific to target and improve muscles used for swimming in particular. As we progressed Shauni also gave invaluable advice on aspects of my exercise regime in that I was doing too much on some days and not giving myself rest days. We had many a discussion about the exercises set, reasons for low repetitions, targeted muscle groups, importance of a strong core, power and muscle efficiency, good technique, avoidance of injury, listening to my body and taking rest days.
Shauni has been reliable, supportive and motivational throughout the process, has shown extensive knowledge and expertise and so far I can attest to improved Critical Swim Speed, general strength, swim endurance and knowledge to help me progress in a safe manner.
Shauni, who has since set up ‘Streamline Performance’ has coached me and set me weekly exercise regimes religiously which have enabled me to improve my strength and in particular my Critical Swim Speed as well as fully understanding the importance of sticking to the process.
I would not hesitate to recommend Shauni and Streamline Performance for your swim or event training regardless of your ability to help you reach your goals.

I have been attending coached swim sessions with Shauni (at Swimyourswim) for over a year, and have seen my technique and endurance improve. She is a kind, firm and understanding coach who knows when I can be pushed beyond my own belief of what I can do. Last summer I completed my first big swim, the length of Lake Bala. And I hope to swim Lake Coniston this year.
